Short answer: if you are new to Canva and want to produce brand-consistent work for your job (logos, social posts, presentations, short videos), a 2-day hands-on classroom course that is SkillsFuture/WSQ-funded is the most cost-effective option in Singapore. With 70% funding you pay about S$312 for 16 hours of trainer-led practice. If you only need the basics for personal use, Canva’s free self-paced tutorials are enough.

Which kind of Canva course do you need?
| Your situation | Best fit | Typical length |
|---|---|---|
| Never used Canva; need it for work | Hands-on classroom course covering design basics, brand kit, social posts, presentations | 2 days |
| Use Canva already, want polished marketing output | Same 2-day course (day 2 covers presentations, video, mockups and Canva’s AI tools), or in-house training for your team | 2 days |
| Personal or occasional use | Free self-paced tutorials | A few hours |
| Need print-grade or photo-editing work | Photoshop or Illustrator course instead of Canva | 2–3 days |
| Mainly build slide decks | PowerPoint course; Canva for social and marketing visuals | 2 days |

What to check before you book
- Funding. SSG-funded (WSQ or SkillsFuture-registered) courses carry a course reference starting with TGS. Singapore Citizens aged 40+ and SME-sponsored staff get 70% off the course fee; other eligible Citizens and PRs get 50%. SkillsFuture Credit, SFEC and UTAP can cover more of the balance.
- Hands-on time. Look for courses where you build real pieces (logo, brand kit, posts, a deck) in class, not a lecture with demos.
- Canva Pro features. Brand Kit and background remover need Canva Pro, and the AI tools are limited on the free plan. Check that the course covers them and lets you practise with them.
- Laptop and class times. Some courses expect you to bring your own laptop; ask.
- Trainer. Ask who teaches and how learners rate them.
